It may not be a four letter word, but it falls into one of the most commonly overused terms people use to describe modern apartments.
From the ground up, it sounds pretty fantastic to most people. Yet in this fast-paced market in a society where almost everything is at our fingertips, it is also a bit of a mystery. What does it really mean when we use the term “luxury apartments?”
Defining the otherwise relatively vague term starts with expectations, knowledge and the utmost respect for detail.
Here’s what to look for in a luxury apartment:
1) All the Comforts
It’s true that home is where the heart is, but that doesn’t make it any less important for that home to be as comfy, homey and personal as you would like it to be. A luxury apartment should offer all of these things and more in the form of a blank slate for you to leave your mark and make it your own.
Spacious floor plans that offer some variety are a good place to start, but luxury builds on that even further by including extras like designer plank flooring, quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, coat closets, and frameless glass showers.
Modern living should combine with a homey feel that includes beautiful features like tile backsplashes, accent walls, and exquisite plumbing and lighting fixtures.
2) Next Stop: Convenience
No man is an island, and no apartment should be either. To fit into the esteemed category of luxury living, an apartment should offer convenient, sometimes even walkable, restaurants and shopping nearby.
Luxury takes that a step further, offering residents experiences as well. From museums and local markets to lakefront and festivals, location matters.
Variety is key, with plenty of choices that include everything from an ideal date night spot to a perfect family-friendly night out.
3) All in the Community
It’s one thing to boast a pool and fitness center. These amenities are considered par for the course in most modern apartment complexes. What takes them to the next level is adding a resort-like feel. Walking into the apartment lobby should feel like walking into your favorite spa. Home is your place to relax, regroup and recharge, and that should start the minute you walk through the doors.
And the pool should be more than a small square of highly chlorinated water. It should offer extras, like a well furnished patio area with comfortable lounge chairs, conversation areas and an outdoor fire pit and grilling areas.
None of the fun should stop when the weather gets chilly, either. Instead, luxury apartments that raise the bar offer additional escapes indoors, like a well-equipped fitness area, yoga studio and multiple lounge spaces to relax and enjoy a freshly brewed cup of coffee in the nippy winter months.
Add a cybercafe and library, gaming area and a mini amphitheater, and you’ve found a whole new way to live the luxury life.
